COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This course deals with the principles and concepts of professional ‘Producing’. It offers in-depth analyses of Theater management, budgeting, marketing and the production organization.
GOALS
This is a required course for the MA degree program in Theater Arts. The students explore the mechanics of producing and Theater management. They learn to develop the production-organization as it relates to structure, audience, budgeting, marketing, scenery, costume, casting and strategic production manipulation for a successful presentation.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon course completion, students will be able to:

Analyze script and market to develop Producing concepts.

Analyze concepts and the environment to develop the budget.

Analyze Production requirements to develop the Production organization.

Develop human relations systems to deal with cast, directors, designers, the public, agents, managers and legal elements.
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
