COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course provides students with the mechanics of Play Production emphasizing stage design, performance presentation, promotion and business.

GOALS
This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students learn how to use the tools of Theatrical design, script and performance development, and strategic planning for marketing and other business operations.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. Upon course completion, students will be able to:
   

2. Conceptualize designs for stage productions.
   

3. Work with actors, directors, writers, designers and Producers to create a successful production.
   

4. Work with the Production Team and Community to market and promote the Production.
   

5. Plan the budget, business and performance operations to ensure success of the Production.

COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study. 

COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
