COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This course deals with the fundamentals of design for the Theater, focusing on the preparation of sketches, drawings and colors relative to the principal styles and periods.
GOALS
This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students learn to prepare the sketches and drawings of the sets for the play and develop color charts for lighting, costume and make-up. They learn about the importance of their role in Theater production. They help to prepare the perfect picture, upon the stage, for the players.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon course completion, students will be able to:
Prepare drawings of the Sets.
Submit sketches for costume and make-up.
Prepare lighting plot and color charts for Sets, costume and makeup.
Work with the director, stage manager and other technical designers to present the perfect stage picture.
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
