COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course explores methods of studying the script, developing staging concepts and coordinating the efforts of all artists and technicians into a perfectly unified performance.

GOALS

This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students learn to design the rehearsal process, interpret the script to gain a proper understanding of each character, scene, act, movement and change.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon course completion, students will be able to:

Structure the rehearsal.

Define the staging concept.

Cast Actors, Artists, technicians and others to build the production team.

Develop respectful relationship with all production leaders, players and designers in order to present the best performance (Production).

COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study. 

COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
