COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This course explores methods of development for Promotion and Public Relations for the Performing Arts. It examines techniques of audience development and the enhancement of Public Relation skills of Arts organizations.
GOALS
This is a required course for the BA degree program in Theater Arts. The students gain an understanding of the many styles and systems of marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations that are necessary for Theater organizations to be successful.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon course completion, students will be able to:
Prepare Press Releases.
Prepare Posters, flyers and post ads.
Develop methods of marketing and selling a show.
Keep professional meetings and interviews with community organizations in order to build an audience
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
