COURSE DESCRIPTION
PSY 550 will provide the student with a professional understanding of the uses and applications of psychological tests and their role in diagnosis and evaluation. Aptitude, Achievement, Intelligence and specialized tests will be included.
COURSE GOALS
· The student will develop an understanding of the administration of a variety of Psychological tests
· The student will develop skills in the interpretation of test results and using those results professionally
· The student will develop an understanding of the laws and ethics associated with testing and the use of test results
COURSE EXPECTATIONS AND EVALUATION
Read and study each assigned chapter. Write a summary of each chapter.
PROJECT
Write a comprehensive paper outlining and describing these Testing terms and procedures, include scientific information as well as your personal assessment:
· Test Interpretation and Test Norms
· Reliability and Validity measures
· IQ tests, individual and group - cultural factors
· Group Tests, Achievement Testing, Aptitude Tests, Interest Inventories, Occupational Inventories,
· Personality Tests - projective, paper and pencil
Administer a variety of tests in a supervised clinical setting. 25 hours minimum testing time, with documentation provided to the university.
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
