COURSE DESCRIPTION
PSY 508 is designed to provide graduate students with the principles and methods of planning and carrying out systematic investigations of the behavior of individuals and groups. Experimental design, statistical methods, evaluation of appropriateness of approach, practical application and formulating testable hypotheses will be studied.
COURSE EXPECTATIONS AND EVALUATION
Students will read the text assigned and write a summary of each chapter.
PROJECT
The student will create an original 10-15 page Research Proposal of their own choice d(and approval of the instructor) to include:
· Area of study and statement of problem
· Need for study
· Review of relevant literature
· How data is to be collected and assessed
COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study.
COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
