PSY 506 Professional Issues in Psychology 3 Credit Hours

COURSE DESCRIPTION
PSY 506 is designed to acquaint graduate students with the many issues relating to the practice of counseling and psychotherapy, with special attention to legal, ethical, and practical issues in the practice of psychology.

COURSE EXPECTATIONS AND EVALUATION
Students will read and critique each assigned text - to include a summary and personal assessment of each chapter read.

PROJECT
The student will write a 15-18 page paper on a topical aspect of ethical behavior such as Sexual Harassment, Sexual relations with clients, Confidentiality or another ethics area approved by the university. Submit an outline/proposal prior to beginning research for the project.

COURSE PREREQUISITE: A bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for admission to this course of study. 

COURSE DELIVERY: This course shall be delivered completely through online interaction via the Internet or other acceptable distance learning medium(s). Due to this being a non-traditional program, traditional classroom residency is not required. Therefore, you are expected to independently read and analyze the subject matter with me performing the roles of an advisor and mentor.
